About: Gibbes Cocky A Home

Have you ever wanted to have your photo taken with Cocky or possibly invited him to join a photo with your wedding party, children, or grandchildren?  Maybe you wanted to ask his opinion on the upcoming athletic season.  Cocky hears that a lot!

2013 marks the 10-year anniversary of Cocky winning the Capital One National Mascot Challenge, and it seems like the perfect time to truly honor him.  There are many bronze icons in Gamecock country but nothing fitting enough to immortalize our own mascot, who is well-loved by a proud Gamecock Nation.  Cocky hopes you will want to be a part of changing that.  Visit the “How to Donate” page listed in the menu above for more information about how to donate to the Cocky Statue Fund and help “Gibbes Cocky a Home.”

Go Gamecocks!!

  1. I’m not clear on where the statue will be. The ceremony honoring Cocky is in front of the Russell House, but “Gibbes” indicates the statue will be elsewhere. How about more info? Thanks.

    • Phyllis,

At this time, the Gibbes Green area in the heart of campus is being considered for where to place the statue. More details on that to come! The ceremony held a couple of days ago was to celebrate Cocky and his work with Cocky’s Reading Express during National Philanthropy Day. Hope this clarifies things a bit!
